How to Log Your Meals

Tracking your nutrition is an important part of your fitness journey. You can plan and log meals inside eFit, and nutrition you log in an app connected to Google Health can appear in eFit as well.

Log Meals in eFit

Use the eFit Meal Planner to add meals and see their nutrition. See Using the Meal Planner Feature.

Nutrition From a Connected App

If you log food in an app that sends nutrition to Google Health (for example the Fitbit app), that data can flow to eFit through your Google Health connection where it is available. Log your meals in the app as usual:

  1. Open your food-logging app.
  2. Add each food by searching or scanning a barcode.
  3. Enter the serving size and confirm.

What Gets Tracked

For each food item, eFit imports:

  • Calories: total energy content
  • Carbohydrates: in grams
  • Protein: in grams
  • Fat: in grams
  • Sodium: when available
  • Fiber: when available

Viewing Your Food Log

  1. Go to your eFit Dashboard
  2. Your macronutrient breakdown appears as a pie chart
  3. For detailed logs, access the Nutrition section

Nutrition Assignment Requirements

For the nutrition written assignment, you need to log food for 3 consecutive days. The system will generate a report showing:

  • Daily food logs with all items
  • Pie charts of your macronutrient distribution
  • Total calories, carbs, protein, and fat for each day

Tips for Accurate Logging

  • Log immediately: record meals right after eating for accuracy
  • Use the barcode scanner: fastest way to log packaged foods
  • Measure portions: use measuring cups or a food scale
  • Include everything: do not forget drinks, snacks, and condiments
  • Be consistent: log all meals for 3 days in a row for your assignment
