Updating Your Health Metrics

Your health metrics (weight, height, age) are used throughout eFit for personalized calculations. Keep them current for accurate results.

Where Health Metrics Are Used

  • BMI Calculator: Requires height and weight
  • BMR/TDEE Calculator: Uses age, gender, height, and weight
  • Heart Rate Zones: Based on your age
  • Calorie Estimates: Personalized to your body composition

Updating Your Metrics

  1. Go to Edit Profile
  2. Select your preferred Unit System (Imperial or Metric)
  3. Enter your current:
    • Age: 15-90 years
    • Height: Inches (Imperial) or Centimeters (Metric)
    • Weight: Pounds (Imperial) or Kilograms (Metric)
    • Gender: Male, Female, or Other
  4. Click Save Changes

BMI Calculator

Access the BMI calculator in Module 5 to see your Body Mass Index:

  • Formula: Weight (kg) / Height (m)²
  • Results show your BMI category

BMR Calculator

Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (calories burned at rest):

  • Access via the BMR Calculator tool
  • Select your activity level for TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure)
  • Activity levels range from sedentary to extreme athlete

When to Update

  • After significant weight changes
  • On your birthday (age affects calculations)
  • If you notice inaccurate calorie or heart rate data

Data Privacy

Your health metrics are encrypted and stored securely. Only you and authorized faculty can access this information.
