Google Health is Google's central place for your health and fitness data. Steps, active minutes, heart rate, and nutrition from your phone, smartwatch, and fitness apps all collect there. eFit reads that data with your permission, so your activity counts toward your course automatically.
How eFit fits in
You connect eFit to Google Health one time. After that, eFit reads your latest activity every night. You never upload files or type in steps by hand.
How your data reaches Google Health
| Your phone | How data gets to Google Health |
|---|---|
| Android | Your tracker apps write to Android Health Connect, and the Google Health app reads Health Connect. |
| iPhone | The Google Health app reads Apple Health and sends the data to your Google account. |
What eFit can and cannot do
- eFit reads your steps, Active Zone Minutes, heart rate, and nutrition data.
- eFit never writes, changes, or deletes anything in your Google account.
- You can disconnect eFit from Google Health whenever you want.
What replaced the old connections
eFit previously connected the Google Fit app and the Fitbit app directly. Both have been replaced by a single Google Health connection. Your Fitbit, Garmin, and Samsung devices still work, they now send their data through Google Health.
