Activity shows on Google Fit but not eFit

If a workout shows up in the Google Fit app on your phone but the steps and minutes never reach your eFit dashboard, resetting the connection between the two usually clears it up. Keep your phone next to you while you work through the steps, because they move back and forth between the phone and eFit, and use the same email address on both.

Reset the connection

  1. Log out of Google Fit on your phone.
  2. Unlink Google Fit in eFit on the Change Tracker page (/dashboard/help/change-tracker.php). Select Unlink Google Fit, then confirm with Yes, Unlink.
  3. Log back in to Google Fit on your phone and write down the exact email address you use. Open the app, give it a moment to finish updating, and check that your missing activity is showing there. eFit reads your activity out of this account, so if the app comes up empty or the workout is missing, log out and sign in with another email address until you find the one holding your activity.
  4. Sync eFit with Google Fit on the Sync Tracker page (/dashboard/sync.php). Choose Google Fit, then select Connect to Google Fit. When Google prompts you to log in, use the account that matches the email address you wrote down. Google sometimes fills in an account for you or logs you straight in, so read the address on the screen before you continue.
  5. Approve every permission Google asks for, including See and store your physical activity data. eFit stops the connection and sends you back if that one is left off, so check that each box is switched on before you select Continue.

Check that it worked

  1. Open your Current Activity report (/dashboard/help/activities.php) and look for the day that was missing.
  2. Reconnecting reaches back only a few days, so it will not restore activity from earlier in the term.
  3. Give the sync time to catch up. eFit re-checks your recent days automatically overnight, so check the report again the next morning before you decide it did not work.

If it still does not work

  • If eFit shows the message Could not obtain refresh token, go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, remove eFit's access to your Google account, and then repeat step 4.
  • The Begin Repairs button on the Sync Help page (/dashboard/help/sync.php) does the unlink and reconnect in one click. Log out of Google Fit on your phone first, the same as step 1, otherwise the reset only covers the eFit side.
  • If the workout is missing from the Google Fit app no matter which email address you sign in with, the problem sits between your tracker and the app. Sort that out first, since eFit can only read activity that has already reached Google Fit.
  • Days further back than the last few do not fill in on their own once a connection has been broken for a while. Submit a ticket and we can run a longer sync for you.

When you submit a ticket, include the email address you used for Google Fit, the dates of the workouts that did not appear, and whether those workouts are visible in the Google Fit app. That lets us check the connection without asking you to repeat these steps.
