Share your registration link and enrol students

Students join a course through a registration link that is unique to that section. It is the only route in, and it is what puts each student in the right gradebook.

Finding your link

Go to Course Setup > Courses and use the link icon on the course row. It looks like this, where the number identifies your section:

Give each section its own link. Posting one section's link to every section is the most common setup mistake we see. Students end up enrolled in the wrong course, their grades appear on somebody else's roster, and moving them afterwards is manual work.

Where to put it

Post it inside your LMS, in the same place students look for the syllabus. Because the link carries the section, a student who follows it from your Canvas or D2L section shell lands in the right place automatically.

What students do

Follow your link and complete the registration form.
Use their LMS username, not their email address, so grade export lines up.
Enter age, height and weight, which the fitness calculations need.
Connect the Google Health app.

Google Health is free and works on both Android and iPhone. On iPhone it reads what Apple Health has already collected, so students can take part with just the phone in their pocket and do not have to buy a wearable.

Checking who has joined

Your Setup Guide shows a live enrolment count, and Students > View All Students lists everyone with whether they have connected a tracker yet. A student showing no activity has usually not finished connecting one.
