Badges are the milestone rewards students collect for sustained activity, workout sessions and streaks. The Badge Manager is where the milestones themselves are defined.
How badges are granted
Most badges are threshold badges: a student passes a number, and a scheduled job grants the badge on its next run. This includes the workout session and workout streak badges. Because the grant happens on a schedule, a badge can appear a little after the moment a student earned it, which is normal and not a fault.
A smaller set are event-based, granted by dedicated code rather than by crossing a threshold.
What you can do here
- Create a milestone, setting the threshold and the unit it is measured in.
- Edit an existing one, for example to make a target realistic for your student population.
- Award a badge to one student by hand, for the case where a student genuinely earned something the automation could not observe.
Seeing the result
Reports > Reports Hub > Badge Achievements shows which students have earned which badges. A milestone that nobody has ever reached is usually set too high rather than genuinely unreachable.
